Types of Soy Wax Melters and How They Work

In this blog post, we will discuss the two main types of wax warmers: electric wax warmers and tealight wax burners. We’ll explain what a wax warmer is, how it works, and why we only recommend using electric wax warmers with Violet Matters wax melts.

What is a Wax Warmer or Burner?

A wax warmer or burner is a device used to heat scented wax melts, releasing their fragrance into the air. These devices are designed to melt wax slowly and evenly, ensuring the scent is distributed throughout your space.

There are two common types of wax warmers:

  1. Electric Wax Warmers

  2. Tealight Wax Burners

Why We Only Recommend Electric Wax Warmers

When using Violet Matters wax melts, we strongly recommend using electric wax warmers. Our wax melts are specifically designed and developed for use only in electric wax warmers. These warmers provide a consistent and safe heat source without the risks associated with an open flame. Electric wax warmers are widely available at major Australian retailers, reasonably priced, and come in a variety of styles to suit your home decor.

Tealight wax burners, while more economical, rely on an open flame to melt the wax. This introduces safety concerns, such as the risk of fire if left unattended. Additionally, the heat from tealight burners can be inconsistent, which may impact the performance of our melts. For these reasons, we do not recommend using tealight wax burners with our products.

How to Use Our Wax Melts

Our 100% natural soy wax melts come in a range of options including; Melt Tins, Clam Shells, Gift Boxes and Melt Bars

Here’s how to use them with your electric wax warmer:

  1. Depending on your melt product - select 1 or 2 pieces  (Note: if using on our clam shells - when popping out a wax cube from the clam shell you may need to apply a little pressure or run a toothpick or similar around the edge to release the seal.

  2. Place the cube in the dish of your electric wax warmer.

  3. Turn on the warmer. Within about 10 minutes, the wax will begin to melt, releasing its fragrance into your room.

Electric wax warmers are effective at dispersing scent throughout small to medium-sized spaces. For stronger fragrances like gardenia, we recommend using them in larger rooms to avoid overwhelming the space.
