The Power of Positive Words Blog Series: Blog 16 - How to make your own affirmation cards
You don’t have to be a designer or artist to make your own affirmation cards. In fact, DIY cards can be some of the most powerful because you choose the words that resonate most to you.
Here’s how to make your own printable set at home:
Step 1: Gather phrases that speak to you.
Try prompts like:
- What do I need to hear more often?
- What helps me feel calm, strong, or seen?
Step 2: Get creative with the design.
Use Canva or another design app to lay out your phrases in simple blocks. Add soft colors, textures, or little illustrations if you want.
Step 3: Print on good-quality paper or cardstock.
Cut them out and maybe laminate them for durability. Store them in a box, envelope, or repurposed tin.
Step 4: Use them just like any other deck.
Display, gift, reflect, rotate, journal. These are your words—crafted with care and intention.
And if you love them? You’ve got a one-of-a-kind tool for self-care—and maybe even something you can share with friends or customers. Our Affirmation Cards journey started with me creating them for myself, then for friends and family who saw them and wanted their own sets, and from there things just grew with customers and businesses asking us to create bespoke affirmation card sets for their clients etc.
